Safeguarding Adults – disclosure

Aim:

This one day course explores the key elements of safeguarding adults decision making and offers guidance on the practical implementation of multi-agency procedures.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be offered the opportunity to:
  • Explore the issue of seriousness in the decision making process
  • Understand the process of referral and the purpose of an investigation
  • Explore some of the dilemma’s and barriers to effective communication
  • Distinguish between fact and fiction and understand the significance of good accurate keeping
  • Appreciate the significance of effective multi-agency working
  • Explore potential for use and misuse of power and trust in the worker/service user relationship
  • Understand the Whistleblowing policy
  • Examine issues of capacity, confidentiality and appropriate information sharing
