Safer Recruitment and Retention - Adult Services
Aim
To equip those who are involved in the recruitment, selection and supervision of staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to safeguard adults from abuse and malpractice.
Outcomes
By the end of these two days training participants will be able to:
- describe the legal background to safeguarding adults in recruitment and retention procedures
- understand the recommendations from the Warner Report and its application to their work
- identify indicators of abuse and malpractice to use in recruitment and retention contexts
- follow up and respond to staff concerns
- use the management role through recruitment, selection, induction, probationary period, appraisal, supervision and monitoring to create a safer environment and care for adults
