Schools have been approaching In-Trac for advice about how to implement supervision, in recognition that teachers and support staff in schools have no formal opportunity to review and manage the emotional impact of their work. In response, we have set up a pilot project across a range of primary and secondary education including mainstream and specialist provision, to look at how supervision may be offered to teaching staff. The focus at present is on those in the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) role and those they support in order to improve outcomes for children. The pilot is happening over the current academic year ( 2016/2017) and has been enthusiastically welcomed. A report will be forthcoming in due course – watch this space!
