Jane Wiffin

Jane Wiffin is a social worker by profession, and has worked in a number of different social work contexts over the last 25 years. For the last 15 years she has been involved in areas of research, policy development and training. Her areas of interest include effective safeguarding, family support development, user involvement and participation, kinship care, evidence-based practice and using research. She has been the overview author of a number of serious case reviews and last year completed a report for the Children’s Commissioner on Family views of the Child Protection System. This year she has worked with the Early Years Department of a Unitary Authority to develop a safeguarding supervision policy for early years staff, and has just completed an extensive training programme to enable mangers to implement the policy.
