Fiona Mainstone
Fiona
Mainstone is a Senior Lecturer at Brighton University where she teaches
on several modules of the BA in Social Work and a range of post qualifying
courses including risk assessment, child forensic psychology, child sexual
abuse and solution focused approaches. Fiona also works as an independent
practitioner, consultant and trainer.
Key skills and Experience:
- Specialist diagnostic, investigative, assessment, therapeutic, consultation and training services regarding children and young people in need of protection
- Providing expert evidence in contested care proceedings
- Solution focused working with children and their families
- Working with children and young people in need of protection and young people who sexually harm others
- Consultation and mentoring to social work staff
- Undertaking child protection investigations with police, acting as 'appropriate adult' for young people in police custody
