Meet the team

Chris Pummell

Chris Pummell is a recently retired Detective Sergeant from Surrey Police. Chris has 30 years experience in the area of public protection. He is a qualified police trainer and an experienced Youth Liaison Officer.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Police trainer for all child protection courses both internal and external including joint training for police and social workers engaged in joint investigation of child abuse
  • Member of multi agency groups for child protection and vulnerable adults supporting the Surrey Safeguarding Children Board and the Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board
  • Member of National Police Working Groups on Child Protection (including ACPO groups)
  • Chairing multi agency working groups concerned with Public Protection (child protection, vulnerable adults, management of sex offenders)
  • Conducting Serious Case Reviews into child deaths

Chris has also worked as Children's Services Officer at Chelsea Football Club, having responsibility across the football club for its safeguarding agenda and for the training of staff in child protection as well as vulnerable adult awareness.
